Blue and White Chinoiserie, Always a Classic

Chinoiserie has been around since the 17th century, and even though this classic style is heavily influenced by East Asian heritage, the term itself is derived from France, as it was a popular design trend in 17th and 18th-century European homes. The beloved color pairing never goes out of style, with the ever-chic Ginger Jar at the core of it all. Originally created to store spices in ancient China, the classic blue and white porcelain Ginger Jar evolved to become less utilitarian and more sophisticated in design circles in the mid-1960s. Well, guess what? All blue and white pots, planters, jars, vases, plates, fabrics, papers, and accessories have been a hot request again this summer! Particularly for coastal weddings and tented parties. A trend alert, perhaps? Nah, just the most classic design pairing to ever exist! Aside from black and white, of course.

Here are a few photos of our blue and white porcelain collection available for rental in the Greater Philadelphia Area.
